Sincronizzare i contatti locali di iOS 9 con Lotus Traveler 9.0.1.9

La nuova versione del traveler aggiunge la possibilità di visualizzare i contatti sincronizzati con la propria casella aziendale anche con l’applicazione locale “contatti” di iOS.

Questa funzione è stata aggiunta perchè in molti casi gli utenti avevano la necessità di utilizzarla per avere una maggiore personalizzazione dei contatti e per condividerli anche con altre applicazioni installate.

Per renderla attiva oltre all’aggiornamento del server all’ultima versione 9.0.1.9 ed al requisito della versione 9 o superiore di iOS serve verificare che nel proprio file notes.ini del server Domino sia presente questa chiave:
NTS_IBM_IOS_LOCAL_CONTACTS_SYNC=true

Se manca dalla console del server utilizzate il comando:
set config NTS_IBM_IOS_LOCAL_CONTACTS_SYNC=true

Al primo riavvio del servizio Traveler sui device Apple verrà richiesta l’autorizzazione ad accedere ai contatti locali e serve ovviamente accettare la proposta.

Lotus Traveler: Errore “Response is null for command FolderSync..”

Nel tentativo di resettare l’account traveler di un utente per un problema di sincronizzazione ho incontrato il seguente errore:
“Response is null for command FolderSync and should not be null with status 200“.

Cercando nel supporto online ho trovato questa soluzione

• dalla console del server traveler eseguire il comando
  “set config NTS_MIN_BUILD_NUM_CHANGED_DB=1000“
• riavviare il task del servizio traveler
  “restart task traveler“
• ripetere il comando di reset
  “tell traveler reset * “nomeaccount/dominio“

Configurare un Blackberry Z10 con IBM Lotus Traveler 8.5.3

La versione 9 del Traveler è direttamente compatibile con lo Z10 quindi si potrà installare il profilo di sincronizzazione in automatico, per quanto riguarda invece la versione precedente 8.5.3 bisogna procedere ad una configurazione manuale.

1. Open the “Setup” application on your Blackberry Z10
2. Under the “Get Connected” section there is an icon labelled “Accounts“. Tap this.
3. A menu at the bottom of the screen is shown. Select the “Add Account” option
4. The “Add Account” screen is shown. On the menu at the bottom of the screen tap the “Advanced” option
5. The “Advanced Setup” screen is shown. Tap the option “Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync“
6. The “Add Account” form is displayed.
7. Description. Whatever you type here will be seen on your Blackberry Hub
8. Leave the “Domain” field BLANK
9. In “Username” – enter your iNotes user name
10. For “Email Address” enter you notes SMTP email address
11. For “Password” enter your iNotes password
12. In “Server Address” enter the public URL of your traveler server
13. In “Port“, enter the port that traveler will use. We configured “443” in our system
14. If using SSL then turn on the SSL option
15. If using a VPN then turn on the “Use VPN” option
16. Ensure that you turn on “Push“
17. Leave “Sync Timeframe set to 30 days”
18. At the top of the screen click the “Next” button

The handset will attempt to synchronise with your traveler server and you will get a message saying “Checking for support services and policy information“.
Behind the scenes traveler will create a profile for you.
You may get some messages about https certificates.
If you do click “Continue” past those.
At the next screen entitiled “Add Account” specify what things you want to syncrhonise (Sync Emai, Sync Contacts, Sync Calendar, Sync Tasks, Sync Memos) then on the top of the screen click the “Done” button.
You will get the message “Saving and verifying your settings”.
Again you may get a “Provider Identity Not Verifiable” message if there is an issue with https certificate again, click “Continue”.

Come utilizzare le applicazioni Android su Mac e Windows (pc e tablet 8 pro)

Use all 750,000 Mobile Apps on PC or Mac

Utilizzare un Android dal pc è una funzionalità davvero interessante per ogni utente per provare le applicazioni, magari pasticciare un po’ con il sistema, oppure installare una applicazione non presente nel proprio sistema operativo, il tutto senza modificare il proprio smartphone.

Questa possibilità diventa ancor più utile per chi con i dispositivi mobile ci lavora, soprattutto per chi non ha a disposizione un Android e deve dare assistenza ad altri oppure per creare guide per l’utilizzo di una applicazione o per corsi di formazione a colleghi.

Ho installato BlueStacks (http://www.bluestacks.com), applicazione gratuita disponibile per Windows (anche tablet surface), una sorta di ambiente virtuale che monta un Android utilizzabile in finestra o a tutto schermo.

Fix Pack 4 per IBM Lotus Domino e Notes

Dal 15 aprile sono disponibili sul sito Fix Central di IBM i file di aggiornamento FP4 per la piattaforma Lotus Server e Client.

Per il server Domino c’è distinzione tra 32 e 64 bit mentre per il client è solamente 32 bit (in versione standard con Eclipse o basic).

Oltre a questi aggiornamenti è disponibile anche la IF2 per la versione 8.5.3 Up2 di Lotus Traveler (sincronizzazione Mobile per Smartphone e Tablet).

IBM Lotus Notes Traveler 9, si estende il supporto a nuovi device

BlackBerry 10 device support

Devices running BlackBerry 10 OS are supported with IBM Notes Traveler 9. IBM Notes Traveler 9 supports two-way sync of Mail, Contacts and Calendar on these devices using the ability to define an Exchange ActiveSync server address in either a BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 managed device, or in a directly connected device configuration.

Windows Phone device support

Devices running the following Windows™ Phone versions are now supported by IBM Notes Traveler 9, including:

• Windows Phone 7.5
• Windows Phone 7.8
• Windows Phone 8

Windows RT tablet support

Tablet devices running Windows RT are supported with IBM Notes Traveler 9. IBM Notes Traveler 9 supports two-way sync of Mail, Contacts and Calendar on these devices using the built-in Exchange account.

Windows 8 Pro tablet support

Tablet devices running Windows 8 Pro are supported with IBM Notes Traveler 9. IBM Notes Traveler 9 supports two-way sync of Mail, Contacts and Calendar on these devices using the built-in Exchange account.

Updated IBM Notes Traveler server operating system support

IBM Notes Traveler now supports additional operating system platforms, including:

• IBM i (V6R1/V7R1)
• Windows Server 2012
• Redhat 6 64-bit mode (IBM Notes Traveler now runs in native 64-bit mode when installed with IBM Domino® 64-bit.)
• SUSE 11 64-bit mode (IBM Notes Traveler now runs in native 64-bit mode when installed with IBM Domino 64-bit.)

Note: Support for Redhat 5 and SUSE 10 has been removed as those operating system levels are not supported by the Domino 9 server.
